What kind of wood is your wand be made of? Go to the Celtic Wood Chart and find which according to your birth date. (This is similar to the traditional horoscopes.) Then copy-paste the description here. Bold traits that describe you very well and strike those that do not apply to you whatsoever. Then provide a brief commentary on how accurate you think these traits are in the scope of your nature and personality.
"The 'new moon' Birch individual has a more impulsive and emotional nature, but is inclined to be subjective and/or introverted. The positive traits of these people are displayed by their resolve or faith in themselves in overcoming all obstacles, thereby being more tenancious in pursuing their objectives in life. The 'full moon' Birch individual possesses a clarity of purpose combined with a visionary nature. Such people are inclined to be more objective and/or extroverted. The characteristic negative traits, however, hinge upon a lack of reality which can sometimes cloud the judgment."
Determined. Resilient. Ambitious. Goal-oriented. Excellent leader. Good organizer. Supreme strategist. Usually undeterred by setbacks. Possess intense need to succeed. Believes hard work, patience and persistence will eventually triumph. Loyal. Reliable. Trustworthy. Prone to be reserved in displays of affection. Sociable with specific people. Tendency to grow cynical. Thrives best under a well-regimented lifestyle. Often known as the "workaholic" of society. Serious by nature. Droll sense of humor. Obsessive about health. Prefers to keep a low profile. Does not flaunt successes. Acute sense of money. Pessimistic attitude at times. May impose large amount of self-discipline. Tendency to experience loneliness. Needs a goal in life in order to avoid becoming depressed and pessimistic.
The description is somewhat true and somewhat false. Unlike what it says about "displayed by their resolve or faith in themselves in oversoming obstacles", I have extremely low self esteem, not to mention am the most depressing girl I know - since I always end up making friends with hyper active monkeys. I agree whole heartedly though about "lack of reality which can sometimes cloud the judgement". I often forget what's reality and what's fantasy (much to my liking) since I don't like to really pay attention to the things around me, and the fact I trust in almost everything single thing I hear, read or see. Like sometimes I'm so into George Weasley, I sometimes forget the actor who's playing him is not really George, but a whole other person.
How do you think you would use magic? On a day to day basis? Over your entire lifespan?
Most definately, I'll abuse the power like nobody's business! >0< I would not only use it for all the small little things in life that I'm forced to do now by hand (such as chores, getting stuff from all the way downstairs - I live in a big house) I'd also learn all sorts of spells. Especially those to torment people! Not so much as to kill them, but to irritate them out of their mind enough to drive them crazy!! Other than that, I'd also use magic to help my friends when they're in trouble or injured. I often get injures when I fight with the boys, so healing spells would definately come in handy.
What are your strongest personality traits? Your weakest?
STRONGEST PERSONALITY TRAITS
Most of my friends tell me that I'm unforgetable. I'm not entirely sure why, but they just do. And I believe that being remembered by all your friends (no matter how many months, years and decades have passed) is a very important quality. But I've also been told that I'm extremely loyal to all of my friends. As I'll go through hell and back for them, as I am sure they'll do the same for me. Aside from that, I'm constantly praised by my writing ability as I have a deep passion for literature as well as fantasy / romance novels (since I hope to be a novelist someday). The only other thing I can think of is that I've got a good imagination. I can think of the craziest stuff when I'm bored or in history class (since I hate history, unless it's japanese).
WEAKEST PERSONALITY TRAITS
My temper is by biggest weakness. Like most of my family members (mom and big brother) I have a habit of losing my temper very fast. You get me even a bit mad, I'll explode! Especially if the cause of my anger is a boy (I guess you can call me a feminist). Aside from that it's my horrible cooking skills. There's only one dish I can make and that's a sandwitch! An egg sandwitch stuffed with cheese and seasoned with pepper, garlic power, salt and sugar. Once my mom tried to make me cook dinner...I think you could see the smoke all the way from Australia! And I live in Malaysia!
If you could solve world hunger by killing one person would you? Explain why or why not.
Definately. Every single decision we make ends up with a sacrifice. The only difference is the size of the sacrifice. In this case, if I killed the guy, he's the only one who'll die and many after him will live on happily. But I choose to save the guy, than thousands of people will die from starvation. Children and women alike will suffer for years. Though...if that one person was a good friend of mine...I'd probably won't. I don't think I'd have the heart to kill someone who I consider a friend. A close friend that is.
Who would you say is your role model? Explain.
I have several. My fantasy author role model would be J.K. Rowling. And do I honestly have to explain this to you? The popularity of her Harry Potter series is more than enough of an explanation. Though the way she write is somewhat childish (hence, it being called a "children's book") but I love her work non-the-less. For my romance author Judith McNaught was my choice. I've collected several of her novels (all romance, obviously) and not only do I love her writing style, but the plot as well. Each book has something different and exciting. And the way it's written...it sucks you into the story. As if you're experiencing everything with the characters. I can connect to them so easily, even though they're all adults and I'm still just a teen. My manga artist role model would have to be none other than the famous Yu Watase. It was mainly because of her Fushigi Yuugi anime that got me interested into the fantasy world to begin with. Saying the plot was interesting was a big understatement!!
How do you respond to confrontation?
It all depends on who I'm fighting with. If it were a girl, then I'd only end up yelling, screaming and verbally fighting that person to no end. Though if it were a boy...then that's a whole other story. I'd end up choking him right there and there. Pinning him to the wall, crushing his neck against the wall with just one hand (since I'll probably be taller as well as bigger than him anyways - I love being big). But it also depends who the person is and what we're fighting about. If it were something small, then I'd probably just debate slightly. And if it were a good friend I was fighting with, naturally, I'll act differently.
What values are important in your life?
Everyone has different values and have different views of life. But this one particular value, I think you'll find that most people (if not all) would agree with me; loyalty. For me, the other values are not as important as they can be changed with time. You might be completely honest with this person one day, but then the next, you tell a lie. But loyalty is something that can't be changed. If you're loyal to this one person, one group, one fandom...it'll never change. Even if you've age a great deal, or you were tortured endlessly by raving fangirls, your loyalty will remain. At least...that's what I've believed in.
If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into?
My really close friends lying down in front of me, lying in their own pool of blood. Their dies wide-open and empty, looking up heavenward. Stains of blood around their neck where they've been slashed. To me, my friends are the most important thing in my life. Without them, I'd probably wouldn' t be the girl I am today. I can live without my family (since I was never really close to them in the first place) but without my friends...it's even worse when I find out that it was because of me that they're dead. Thankfully, it had only happened within a dream.
What makes a person respectable?
For me, anyone who is open-minded is considered respectable. Those who do not condem other people's views on things. Like gays and lesbians. Most people think that they are sinned and wrong. Why? Are we any better? Do we not sin as well (and probably as much) as them? We are all human and we all have hearts. People who are able to accept others as they are without changing them - without judging them - is what I consider respectable.
Which of the basic elements do you identify with the most: Earth, Air, Fire, or Water?
Amongst the three water most deffinately. I've been told a number of times how flexible I am. I can be apart of one group for today, and then I'll be chatting with another group tomorrow. I have lots of friends everywhere and though our personalities are way different I get along - surprisingly - with everyone. Even if I do tend to mess around with them a lot (both mentally and physically). Heh.
Do you believe there can be a truly selfless act?
No. Everyone wants something out of every single deed they do. Even if it's small and unimportant. There is not a single human being in this world who is without desires. Myself included. Though at times - very few - I treat my friends out to lunch or dinner, paying or everything. And even though I say that I don't want them to repay me with money, I expect them to repay me in other ways. Like when I need help with my homework, or if I'm lazy to fetch something that's near to one of them. Get the picture?
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose and why?
ENGLAND!! It has been my dream since I was a little kid to live in a small apartment - even if it's just a one room apartment - where I live alone, without my mom or dad or brother or anyone else for that matter! I'd know where I put everything and know what should be there and what shouldn't. The main reason I want to live there is probably because it's the most popular place to start a career as a author, plus the universities there are incredible and I'd be able to get a good education if I'm accepted - hardly doubt that though. Furthurmore...there's actually winter there!! Do you know how suffering it is to live in a country where it's summer all year 'round?! To make it worse, winter's my favourite season and it never comes in Malaysia.
Have you read all of the Harry Potter Books? If yes, which book is your favorite and why? If no, which book is your favorite so far and why haven't you finished the rest?
Yes, I have finished all seven books and I have the entire collection in my house! Well...except for the second novel since I watched the movie first before I was able to buy it. My favourite book would have to be the "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban". For two resons. The knowlegde of the Marauders are first introduced within this book. In other words Remus Lupin is introduced (yes, one of my favourite characters is Remus Lupin). And also because the twin Fred and George had a slightly bigger role in this book. When they handed down the Marauder's map to Harry. Teaching him to be mischivious and so on and so forth.
Who is your favorite character in the HP series? Why?
George Weasley! And no, I know it's George who I like the most. He's far more gentle than his twin, far more angelic than his twin and he can be such a charming young man whenever his brother isn't with him - which is rare. Every since the beginning of time, I've had this weird obsession for twins - may them be boys or girls. I've always been fascinated about them. So when I watched the first Harry Potter movie (alright, alright, I confessed, I watched the movie first before I started reading the book) and found out that there were two twin boys, I was hooked! It was a mere coincidence (and bonus) that I started to fall for George. Fred as well, but more to George. They were both so funny, and were able to make up the best ways to prank their friends and had enjoyed themselves to the max.
Which character is your least favorite in the HP series? Why?
Hm...I love almost every single character in the series, so it's hard for me to choose. Wait! Peter Pettigrew! I hate his soul when I read the ending of the 3rd book and found out that it was because of him that James and Lily died! That it was because of him that Harry grew up so miserably with his aunt and uncle. That it was because of him he never got to know his godfather for long. It was because of him that Sirius was parted from Remus for so long. That it was because of him that Voldemort was revived! He's a poor excuse for a human being, especially since he betrayed those who put such faith into him! So much so to make him their Secret Keeper! He's the only character within the book that I'm glad was killed at the end of the series.
If you were a part of the HP series, what canon character(s) would you be friends with and why? Which character(s) do you think you would not get along with?
I would probably get along with everyone. Honest! I can be happy-go-lucky with the Gryffindors, I can be devilish with the Slytherins, I can be a good listener when the Ravenclaws start to rant and I can be a good companion with the Hufflepuffs. I honestly don't think there's a single person I won't get along with. But there is one particular canon character I would want to be friends with more than the others. George Weasley. Like I've said before, obsession with twins. Yet, for some reason, I always end up falling for the nicer one of the twin. Weird isn't it? Maybe it's because I can be a little too devilish sometimes and I need to be stopped? hee.
Choose a quote from one of the HP books. ANY quote. Be sure to cite who said it and explain why it is your favorite.
"If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals."
-Sirius Black, Goblet of Fire, Chapter 27
I completely and utterly support Sirius's thoughts on this. If you notice people would treat their equals and inferiors very differently. They may appear well-mannered in front of those they consider equals, yet, is extremely rude to those who are just a simple class lower.
